CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") provides two Android apps: "Photo Editor Pro" (package name: jp.snowlife01.android.photo_editor_pro) and "Photo Editor" (package name: jp.snowlife01.android.photo_editor_trial). Photo Editor Pro is a paid app that you buy on Google Play. Photo Editor is its trial version: you can use every feature for 2 days, and after that the app is locked until you unlock it with a one-time in-app purchase. In this Privacy Policy, "the App" means both apps; anything that applies to only one of them is marked as such. This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

The App is a photo editor: it adjusts, retouches, and decorates your photos, removes backgrounds, and makes collages. All editing — including background removal and face detection — runs entirely on your device. Your photos are yours: we never view, collect, upload, or transmit them to our servers or to anyone else. There is no account and no sign-up. Specifically, we do not have access to any of the following:

The photos you open, edit, or save, or the photos you take with the camera
The text you type into photos, or the stickers, drawings, and other edits you make
The faces found in your photos
The information stored in your photos (Exif), such as the date taken, the camera model, or the location

Your photos leave your device only when you share them yourself (Section 2). The one exception is the stickers you make from your photos, which Android's own backup may save to your Google account if you have turned backup on (Section 3.2).

2. Your Photos and How the App Handles Them

Choosing photos: Photos are chosen with Android's system photo picker. The App receives only the photos you pick, and it does not ask for permission to read all the photos on your device. You can also send a photo to the App from another app with "Share" or "Edit".
Taking photos: The App does not have the camera permission. When you choose the camera, the App asks your device's camera app to take the photo; the photo is placed in the App's temporary storage (cache) and opened in the editor.
Background removal and face detection: These use Google's ML Kit (subject segmentation and face detection), which runs on your device through Google Play services. Your photos are analyzed on your device and are not sent to Google or to us. The models these features need are delivered to your device by Google Play services, when the App is installed or the first time you use one of the features. Face detection only finds where faces are in a photo; it is used to place the mosaic when you hide faces automatically and to choose the area for skin smoothing ("Beauty"). It does not identify who anyone is, and its results are not saved or sent anywhere.
Japanese fonts: Some Japanese fonts in the "Text" tool are not included in the App. When you choose one, Google Play services downloads it from Google Fonts and keeps it on your device. The request contains only the name of the font, never the text you type.
Saving: Edited photos are saved as new files in Pictures/PhotoEditorPro on your device; your original photo is never overwritten. Files there can be seen by other apps that you have allowed to access your photos.
Photo information (Exif): By default, a saved photo keeps the date taken and the camera details of the original (such as the camera model and exposure settings), but the location (GPS) is removed. You can change both in the save options ("Keep photo info (Exif)" and "Remove location"). The App also writes "Photo Editor Pro" as the software name in saved photos.
Sharing: When you tap Share, the photo is passed only to the app you choose. We never receive it.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Collected Automatically

Crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the App crashes or stops responding, it sends the error details (stack trace), the device model, the OS version, the app version, the state of the device at that moment (such as free memory and storage), and a random identifier created for this installation of the App. Crashlytics also records when the App is started, so that we can see how often it crashes. Crash reports do not contain your photos or anything you have edited. The App does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
Trial registration (Photo Editor only): So that the 2-day trial cannot be restarted by uninstalling and reinstalling, Photo Editor sends our trial server (which runs on Cloudflare Workers) a one-way hash (SHA-256 with a salt specific to this app) of your device's Android ID. The server stores only that hash and the date your trial first started, and the App uses the earlier of that date and the date recorded on your device. The raw Android ID never leaves your device, and the hash cannot be turned back into it. The App contacts the server only until it receives an answer once, and not at all after you have bought the unlock. Photo Editor Pro does not do this.
Purchase information (Photo Editor only): The one-time unlock is bought through Google Play Billing. The App asks Google Play on your device whether you own the unlock and confirms the purchase with Google Play; no purchase information is sent to our servers. Payment is completed on Google Play, and we never receive payment information such as credit card numbers. Photo Editor Pro has no in-app purchases; the app itself is bought on Google Play.
List of our other apps: The "More" tab introduces our other apps. To show them, the App downloads their names, descriptions, and images from our content server (static files hosted on Cloudflare Pages). The request contains no personal data. As with any connection to a web server, the server receives your device's IP address and standard technical information about the connection. To decide which apps to show, the App checks on your device the country of your SIM card or mobile network, your language settings, and which of our apps are already installed; this is used only on your device and is not sent. Tapping an app opens its page on Google Play, and the link tells Google Play only which of our apps and which screen it came from.

3.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device

Drafts and undo history: While you edit, the photo and its undo history are kept in the App's storage so that you can undo changes and pick up where you left off ("Continue editing"). The draft is deleted when you save the photo or discard the edit.
Your works: A list of the photos you have saved with the App (their place in your gallery, file name, size, and date), so that the "My works" tab can show them. The App does not search your gallery to build this list.
Things you add to the App: Stickers you make from your photos ("My stickers"), LUT files (.cube) and font files you import, and your presets ("My presets").
App settings: The save format, quality, and size, the Exif options, the theme, recently used colors, and similar settings. In Photo Editor, the date your trial started and whether you have bought the unlock are also stored here.
Android backup: If backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may include the App's settings (in Photo Editor, including the trial start date and the purchase status), your presets, and the stickers, LUTs, and fonts you have added in the backup it saves to your own Google account, and may copy them to a new phone when you transfer your data. Drafts and the list of your works are always excluded. This is handled by Android; we have no access to it.
When you uninstall: Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes everything stored in the App's own storage (drafts, the list of your works, stickers, LUTs, fonts, presets, and settings). Photos you saved to Pictures/PhotoEditorPro stay until you delete them.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect

Your photos, your edits, or anything you type into photos
Faces, or any information that identifies a person from a face
Your location (the App does not have the location permission)
Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts (the App has no account or sign-up)
The list of apps installed on your device, or your browsing history

3.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

Internet (INTERNET) — Used only for crash reports, downloading the list of our other apps, showing this privacy policy in the App, Google Play's in-app reviews and in-app updates, and, in Photo Editor, the trial registration and the unlock purchase. Editing does not need an internet connection; only the first download of the background-removal and face-detection models and of the Japanese fonts, done by Google Play services, needs one.
Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — Added by the Firebase (Google) libraries in the App, which use it to check the network connection before sending crash reports. The App's own code does not use it.
Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and earlier only) — Requested when you save, to save photos to Pictures/PhotoEditorPro. Not requested on Android 10 and later.
Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING, Photo Editor only) — Used for the one-time unlock purchase.
Seeing other apps — Android requires apps to declare which other apps they can see. The App declares apps that have a launcher icon, so that it can check on your device whether our other apps are already installed (to avoid introducing an app you already have). It also checks that a camera app and the Google Play Store are available. The App does not collect or send a list of your apps.
Permissions the App does not have: camera, microphone, location, contacts, or access to all the photos on your device.

4. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:

Diagnosing and fixing crashes
Preventing the trial of Photo Editor from being restarted by reinstalling
Confirming your purchase of the unlock in Photo Editor (on your device, through Google Play)
Introducing our other apps
Responding to support inquiries
Complying with applicable laws

We do not sell or rent the information described in this Policy to anyone.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.

Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash reports
ML Kit and Google Play services (Google LLC) — on-device background removal and face detection, delivery of their models, and the download of Japanese fonts from Google Fonts. In providing these features, Google Play services may send Google technical information about how they are working (such as device and app information and performance or error information); your photos are not included.
Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — the one-time unlock in Photo Editor; payment is completed on Google Play
Google Play In-App Review and In-App Updates (Google LLC) — let you rate the App and install updates without leaving it; handled by Google Play
Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — hosts the list of our other apps (Cloudflare Pages) and, for Photo Editor, the trial server (Cloudflare Workers)

6. Data Retention

Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
Trial registration (Photo Editor only): the hash and the trial start date are kept so that the trial cannot be restarted. If you would like them deleted, please contact us at the address below.
Data on your device: kept until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear the App's data.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash reports, the trial server, and the list of our other apps may be located in various countries. When you use the App, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

Choose in the save options whether to keep the photo information (Exif) and whether to remove the location
Discard drafts, and delete your saved works, your stickers, and the fonts you imported, in the App at any time; or uninstall the App or clear its data to erase everything the App has stored on your device
Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the App of significant changes as appropriate.
